NBA News: Wizards Rashard Lewis done for the season

NBA News: Wizards Rashard Lewis done for the season  - Rashard Lewis has missed Washington's last five games due to a sore right knee.

And according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post, "Lewis will get another opinion on his sore right knee later this week in New York."

If that's the case, it would appear unlikely Lewis will return to the lineup on Friday against the Raptors or Sunday against the Nets.

It's been previously reported that Lewis may need surgery on the knee. So if the second opinion from another doctor suggests surgery, it's possible Lewis would opt for that -- which could end his 2010-11 campaign.

More NBA News - The Jazz signed big man Marcus Cousin to a 10-day contract earlier this month.

With news that Mehmet Okur is out for the season now, Smith is also reporting that it "weighs in Cousin's favor." As such, Cousin seems to stand a decent chance of getting another contract from Utah.

Stephen Jackson moved Wallace's small forward spot in his absence with Gerald Henderson taking over the starting shooting guard role.

FREE NBA Picks Golden State Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks - The Mavericks will be looking for another NBA Picks win on Tuesday night when the face  the Golden State Warriors. The NBA Odds makers have listed Mavericks as 8½-point favorites versus the Warriors, and if you are making a play on the total it is sitting at 206 points.
 
altGolden State lossed there last NBA Picks matchup 114-109 when they played on the road losing to the Thunder. But they did hang on to cover the NBA Point Spread as they were a 6.5 underdog. In the Dallas Mav's last NBA Picks game, they got the win 105-103 over the Sacramento Kings on the road. The Mavericks did not cover the Point Spreads as they were a -7 favorite.
 
The Warriors are trying to turn their defensive identity around this season as well after years of Don Nelson-led defensive indifference. The results haven’t been quite as dramatic as Dallas’ but the 106.9 they are surrendering this season is certainly better than the 112.4 they allowed during the 2009-10 campaign. Golden State (33-40 ATS) vs Dallas (31-39-4) will host two Western Conference teams in desperate need of a win when they play tonight at 9:30 ET. The Warriors are currently a half game back of the hungry and determined Denver Nuggets while Dallas is only one game ahead of Golden State. So in essence if Dallas loses, they will be a half game out of the playoffs. Sportsbetting.com has Dallas a -5 point NBA betting favorite in Golden State vs Dallas.

Dallas has surprisingly struggled since making the incredible effort and financial decision to get the NBA Basketball: Golden State vs DallasJason Kidd trade done after quite a few road blocks. Unfortunately for the Warriors, they will never go far without playing defense or a solid big man. Both teams need a victory here as the loser will be a half game out of the playoffs.

The Boston Celtics will attempt to close out the Los Angeles Lakers in Game Six of the NBA Finals on Tuesday.  It would be the first NBA title for the Celtics since 1986.  It may not be easy considering the Celtics are banged up and tired.  They blew a chance to close out the series on Sunday, losing 103-98 in Los Angeles. Even though they lost Game Five, the Celtics like their chances at home in Game Six. "We're one up, with two games to go at home," said Boston’s Paul Pierce, “It still feels like we have the advantage, and I do feel like we're the better team."
