Giants Vikings Predictions - NFL Week 14 Picks & NFL Betting Odds: Will he or won’t he? Quarterback Brett Favre hasn’t practiced all week with an assortment of injuries and there is a good chance that his league record string of consecutive games started could be in jeopardy as the Minnesota Vikings (5-7) host the New York Giants (8-4) in a NFL week 14 picks contest in the Metrodome.
Last NFL picks season, the Vikings helped usher the Giants out of the playoff picture with a 44-7 victory but this year the tables have turned on the two teams and it is the fellows from New York who could deliver a knock-out blow to Minnesota.
The Vikings have won their past two NFL picks contests, playing a more conservative brand of football under new head coach Leslie Frazier, relying more on all-star running back Adrian Peterson and less on the passing game. Peterson ran for 107 yards and three touchdowns as the Vikings ran 40 times after Favre left the game with another injury. Tarvaris Jackson did well as Favre’s replacement and could very well start in Sunday's NFL picks match-up in the Metrodome.
The Giants have won two straight NFL picks contests as well, including a 31-7 pasting of the Washington Redskins last week. The team has rediscovered its running game and now have a dangerous one-two combo in Ahmad Bradshaw (1013 yards, 7 touchdowns) and the rejuvenated Brandon Jacobs (577 yards, 7 touchdowns). Jacobs has run for 103 and 87 yards the past two weeks and could be a real factor against the traditionally tough Vikings run defense. Look for Eli Manning to also have a big game as the Vikings have struggled some against the pass (19 TDs vs. just 10 INTs).
