Will Rodgers be the difference in another upset NFL Playoff Predictions victory or will the top-seeded Falcons prevail at home?
The Packers have had their troubles on the road in 2010, finishing with a 3-5 record, including a 20-17 loss in Atlanta. Look inside those losses, though, and you’ll see that Pack lost by a total of 17 points in those five games, including three three-point defeats. They are predicted to loss another tough game with the Falcons favored by -2 ½.
The difference, this time around, could be the play of Rodgers, especially versus a Falcons defense that has proved vulnerable to the pass. Rodgers has thrown for 28 TDs and for more than 3900 this season with 11 interceptions. Opposing quarterbacks have thrown for 23 TD passes and the defensive backfield has allowed 38 plays of 20+ yards. More importantly, especially against Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings who is adept at turning small throws into big plays, the Falcons have allowed over 1,800 yards after the catch. If Rodgers can find his rhythm in the passing game, Atlanta could be in trouble. In the end, though, the Packers defense will have to stop Atlanta QB Matt Ryan and, if they can make another late game stop, it is on to the NFC Title game
